Mustafa When Smoke Rises
When Smoke Rises is the debut solo musical release from Toronto-based, poet, activist and songwriter Mustafa. Written in the past 18 months after losing several friends to gun violence, the project is a cross-genre celebration of his friends and narrative vignettes from his community, Regent Park. Mustafa describes his work as “inner city folk music”.
