A record which generated considerable attention at the time, due to its innovatory phasing/flangeing technique, Miss Toni Fisher's breakthrough hit, 'The Big Hurt', very nearly topped the U. S. charts and sold a million copies worldwide in 1959. Something of a mystery woman, she was discovered by the celebrated songwriter Wayne Shanklin, who wrote and produced the majority of her recorded output. This compilation anthologises all her releases between 1959 and 1962, for the Signet, Columbia, Bigtop and Smash labels, including notable hits and rarities.
