Matthew Goodhearts latest release Five Apparitions is a collaborative composition combining live performers, electronics, and computer-controlled acoustic instruments. Over the course of four movements, the work explores a shifting mosaic of textures & interactions using algorithmic composition, improvisation, and performer choice. Using the technique of re-embodied sound, in which small surface speakers are attached to instruments thereby turning the instruments themselves into a kind of speaker, composer Matthew Goodheart orchestrates an evolving world of complex timbres that stands as a hybrid between electronic and acoustic music, performance, and sound installation. 1.
