Greg Brown's newest album is a live recording of his August 2005 concert at the Peterson Auditorium in Ishpeming, Michigan, which he performed for free to benefit the Yellow Dog Watershed Preserve. Yellow Dog is a raw, reverent commentary on the times we live in as well as a testament to the artist's love for the wild lands and waters of the Upper Peninsula. This album captures an intimate evening of 'notebook songs,' including three never-before-recorded: "Better Days," "Oily Boys" and "All of Those Things." Also featured are reworkings of old favorites like "Dream Cafe" and "Canned Goods," and early versions of songs that later appeared on Greg Brown's recent Red House release, The Evening Call.
