César Franck's great Violin Sonata in A, arranged for piano by Alfred Cortot, forms the focus on our new solo album featuring the gifted and successful pianist Michael Korstick. This version showcases the piece without disturbing scratching noises that have their appeal. Korstick boldly claims that some elements come across even better in the piano arrangement. The premiere in Paris in 1885 received an enthusiastic response, and Michael Korstick considers this work as Franck's most important solo piece.
