Ephialtes' debut album, 'Melas Oneiros', delivers aggressive, anthem-laden Melodic Blackened Death Metal with a traditional Heavy Metal feel. The band calls their unique blend "Heavy Metal of Death." The name Ephialtes comes from the Ancient Greek word for "nightmare," meaning "one who climbs over the body of the sleeping." Ephialtes formed during the global pandemic, with Przemys?aw Tomasz Olbryt, aka Quazarre (of Devilish Impressions, Asgaard, ex-Crionics), working on what would become 'Melas Oneiros'. The result is a bold, meticulous album with catchy riffs, epic slow-downs, and haunting melodies, blending Black, Death, and Heavy Metal in a dark, somber atmosphere.
