Director Claude Lanzmann's epic Holocaust documentary showcases interviews with death camp survivors, workers, and former Nazi officials, providing a chilling contrast to glimpses of the surviving camps today. Focusing on the Chelmno, Treblinka, and Auschwitz extermination camps, as well as the Warsaw ghetto, this gut-wrenching documentary ("Shoah" meaning "the catastrophe" in Hebrew) is a profound look at the unthinkable and unforgettable. It spans 9 1/4 hours, presented on four discs, featuring multiple language options and insightful bonus films.
