In his funniest and most acclaimed role in years, Burt Reynolds plays Ernie Mullins, an aging safecracker who takes novice thief Mike Lafebb (Casey Siemaszko) under his wing to instruct him in their "craft." After a few jobs, Mike has money burning a hole in his pocket, and it's not long before the authorities are onto him. Will he turn on Ernie to save himself? Bill Forsyth ("Local Hero") directs this winning comedy from a John Sayles script. Lorraine Toussaint, Sheila Kelley co-star.
