It was New Year's Eve, 1981, and Monica (Martha Plimpton) was terrified that the party she threw at her Greenwich Village place would be a no-show disaster. Amongst the eccentrics struggling across town to get there are two friend zone-stuck pals (Courtney Love, Paul Rudd); two teens (Christina Ricci, Gaby Hoffmann) lost in Alphabet City; and a dim bartender (Ben Affleck). Hip ensemble farce co-stars Casey Affleck, Kate Hudson, Dave Chappelle, Janeane Garofalo, Jay Mohr, Elvis Costello.
